Joanna moved to Shropshire in the early 2000s, with her husband Simon and their three children, having grown up in London and gaining a BA Hons (University of London) and PGCE (De Montfort University).

She specialises in painting with acrylics, having produced more illustrative works as a water colourist, together with a venture into rug making and design. She also studied Art Therapy and taught Photography as a Mentor to students with learning difficulties. She studied Developing Abstract – St Ives School of Painting under Liz Hough.

Exhibitor at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2024, her work has also featured as part of the Shrewsbury Arts Trail 2024 and Secret Artists Sale 2023.
